Fortaleza Hires a familiar face as their new Executive Director!

It is with great excitement that Fortaleza announces the appointment of Cecilio Hernandez as the new Executive Director of Fortaleza Inc., effective January 6, 2025. After an extensive and thoughtful selection process, Cecilio emerged as the ideal leader to guide our organization into its next chapter of growth and impact.

Cecilio brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership and community engagement along with a deep passion for empowering Latino communities. As one of Fortaleza’s founding members, Cecilio is a well positioned to accelerate the much needed work to address opportunity gaps impacting Latino students in Lowell and beyond.

As Executive Director, Cecilio will oversee day-to-day operations, strengthen relationships with our partners and supporters, and lead new initiatives to expand our reach and amplify our mission. He will join Wadscar Gomez, Director of Policy and Advocacy, and Beatriz Sierra, Family Liaison in this critical work.
